What's new in TestRail 2.1
Please see below for the changes of this version.
Added: Added time forecasting algorithm and calculation to background task
Added: Progress pages for test runs, plans and milestones including forecasts and burn down chart
Added: Activity page for test plans
Added: Show estimates and estimate forecasts for test suites
Added: Action to highlight test cases without estimates on test suite page
Added: Support for external references for test cases in order to link cases to external requirements, user stories or use cases (similar to defects for tests and test results)
Added: Print support for milestones
Added: Export support (xml, excel and csv) for milestones
Added: Next/previous actions for test cases to jump to the next/previous test case in the same suite
Added: Support for formal notation for time span input fields (e.g. elapsed or estimate) as in h:m or h:m:s
Added: Support for specifying the query string as GET parameter (as in index.php?/search/index/1&q=some string) for the search feature
Added: Support for defects, version (tests) and references (test cases) fields in search
Changed: Improved performance for bigger installations with many users and/or data
Changed: Suite selection now uses a combo box instead of displaying all suites in the sidebar when adding/editing a test plan (scales better for projects with many suites)
Changed: Session cookie is now only valid for the length of the web browser session
Changed: Improved session handling and performance (avoid unneeded database updates)
Changed: Optimized sidebars for space and readability
Changed: Improved design and readability of line charts
Changed: Show activity for completed test runs/plans and milestones only up to completion date, not until today
Changed: Use 200 OK HTTP status for the error pages instead of 500 because IIS may show its own custom error pages otherwise and hides TestRail's error details and error submit form
Changed: Added TestRail's version number to error page/report
Changed: Updated defect integration help topic for YouTrack
Fixed: Redirects (after saving a test case, e.g.) may result in an incorrect url (wrong port, e.g.)
Fixed: Do not update owner/assigned user for existing runs when editing a test plan (overrides manual assignments otherwise)
Fixed: A function-not-found error while displaying a message about a reached license limit when trying to add a new user
Fixed: Copying a section may not necessarily copy the test cases in the right order
