we've already answered this question via email, but in case other users are wondering about this issue: there's currently no way to disable Markdown formatting, but we are looking into this (and into improving the formatting feature itself). It is possible to format text as code blocks (by prepending text lines with 4 spaces) and thus disabling formatting for specific lines of text. This might be useful as a temporary workaround/fix.
